Terms of Use

These terms apply to Oakdale Residents Directory. By using the reference or following its links, you accept the terms below. Do not use the pages if you do not accept them.

1. The Nature of This Reference

Oakdale Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections concerning Oakdale, California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with Oakdale offices, Stanislaus County, California agencies, courts, libraries, or other custodians.

2. Lawful and Responsible Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use information found through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another offense
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale
  • Interfere with the service, its security, or its operation

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

The reference is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Neither the pages nor results returned by a linked search tool are consumer reports. They may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose governed by the FCRA.

4. Outside Services

Government portals, libraries, courts, sponsored search tools, and other linked services maintain their own terms and policies. Oakdale Residents Directory does not control their content, uptime, prices, search results, or handling of submitted information.

5. No Warranty

The reference is offered “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page, fact, fee, coverage date, office detail, link, or outside result is accurate, complete, current, or available. A custodian should be contacted before a record is relied upon.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from use of these pages or a linked resource, including a decision made from a record discovered through them.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arises from your misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Original Content and Design

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to the operators or their licensors and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is permitted. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not.

9. Revisions

These terms may be changed by posting a revised version on this page. Continuing to use the reference after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Restricting Access

The operators may block or limit access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its security. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., governs access requests to the appropriate public custodian, not the private reference. California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., may provide rights concerning covered-business data, but it does not amend an official Oakdale or Stanislaus County record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

13. Questions About These Terms
